The Local Sports and Literary Cultural Competitions of Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools, Inc. (MASTS) were held on October 4-6, 2017 at Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU)- Lianga Campus, Lianga, Surigao del Sur. Being one of the satellite campuses, SDSSU Cagwait has sent student participants who competed with the athletes and participants from other SDSSU Campuses in various events like Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Sepak Takraw, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Dance Sports, Vocal Solo, Duet, Choral Singing, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Pagkukuwento, Dagliang Pagtatalumpati, Essay Writing, Storytelling and Quiz Bowl. Players in Beach Volleyball Men got gold and will be representing the university in the Regional MASTS Sports Competition on December 2017. Indeed, the university administration, faculty, staff and students were very happy and grateful for the success of the university’s participation in the said athletics and literary cultural competitions.
