Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU)-Lianga Campus joined the opening of the AACUP Online Accreditation Survey Visit – Level II for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) Program yesterday, September 13, 2021. The activity aims to make possible for an evaluated program to know its strength and weaknesses, and in what aspects it needs to develop and to submit to quality standards and remit efforts to maintain them at high level in the delivery of continuous education and service amid the threat of the pandemic.

To show his overflowing support, the opening program was actively participated by Dr. Baceledes R. Estal, further giving an inspiring message to the local counterparts recognizing their efforts to this institution’s feat. The program was formally opened by Lianga’s campus director, Dr. Cynthia P. Sajot who also showed his commitment to the said activity as one of the requirements in achieving excellence as an institution. The accreditors, headed by Dr. Ronnie N. Parica, together with Dr. Hershey Alburo even commended the institution as a whole for still submitting for an accreditation amid the many constraints. Other participants were the local counterparts headed by the Head of the Office of Quality Assurance, Dr. Faith P. Villanueva and Asst. Campus Director, Dr. Bernardita G. Quevedo, who also made the honor to formally close the first part of the five-day activity.

For now, it is the fervent prayer of the BSCS faculty and staff to hear that great news at the end of the week that will be celebrated by the whole university. It is also the institutions anticipations for the accreditors to be happily-working with SDSSU-Lianga while supplementing the campus to be fully equipped with the standards set for a Level II-Accredited Program. Moreover, the institution is beyond grateful for the opportunity to submit despite the circumstances and hindrances brought by the present situation. Soar high, SDSSU-Lianga!
