Ninety newly appointed NEMSU personnel officially took their oath of office during the Oath-Taking Ceremony and Orientation on Civil Service Laws and University Policies at the Gold Bar Hotel and Restaurant on January 18, 2024.
This diverse cohort, consisting of 11 dedicated members from the teaching workforce and 79 accomplished administrative personnel, hailing from NEMSU's seven campuses, pledged their unwavering commitment to contribute to the university's growth and excellence with President Nemesio G. Loayon as the administering officer.
โWe are all public servants. Therefore, we must exercise our duties to the best of our abilities for the universityโฆ When we work, we give ourselves. We give ourselves so that others will live.โ President Loayon exclaimed highlighting the value of extending our time and going the extra mile for the service of the NEMSU academic community.
This aligns with the Department of Budget and Managementโs National Budget Circular No. 589: The Revised Organization and Staffing Standards for SUCs โ Phase 1. The ceremony not only marked a symbolic initiation into their roles but also underscored the unity and collective dedication of the recruits to the values and principles upheld by NEMSU.
In addition, NEMSU through its Human Resource Management Office, implemented a part of its onboarding program by providing an orientation on Civil Service Laws and laying down the salient points of the university policies. Such discussions revolved around the universityโs organizational structure, administrative and academic matters, leave laws, ISO 9001 Awareness, IPCR and OPCR of faculty and staff, CODI and Sexual Harassment Law, and the grievance mechanism of the university.
โIt takes brave men and women to recite the oath of officeโฆ You will not just become devoted civil servants, but also actual agents of change in your respective units.โ Dr. Abundio C. Miralles, the Campus Director of NEMSU-Tandag, said as he formally opened the program instilling a strong sense of responsibility in the positions they have assumed.
As these individuals embark on their respective roles, their induction stands as a testament to NEMSU's continuous efforts to strengthen its academic and administrative foundations. The university eagerly anticipates the positive impact and fresh perspectives these new members will bring to enrich the vibrant academic community. This event further solidifies NEMSU's commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment for both its students and staff.
