NEMSU bolsters Safe and Drug-free Environment

With the aim of combating illegal drugs and fostering student safety, North Eastern Mindanao State University Main has taken proactive steps together with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to ensure that every student's educational journey is free from threats.

CHED Caraga, in collaboration with various government agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), is embarking on a comprehensive effort to encourage the youth to actively participate in the campaigns against illegal drugs. These campaigns are known as Adbokasiya Laban sa Illegal na Droga (ALAB) and Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan (BIDA).

Dr. Dave Villarin, the Chief of Information Management Branch, shares profound insights into the pivotal role that the youth play in shaping the nation's future. He emphasizes that the youth represent the strength of our nation and serve as the torchbearers of change. It is crucial to guide them in the right direction, as they are the hope of tomorrow.

Also discussed is the significance of drug education by Chief Dindo D. Abellanosa. He asserts, "Ayaw lang jud gamit kay makaguba ug utok," leaving a cautionary note that using illegal substances will not provide solutions to life's challenges; instead, they will only exacerbate one's problems.
