𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!


North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) has been granted its first patent for invention by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for the 𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊-𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆, invented by 𝑴𝒓. 𝑽𝒊𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒐 𝑻. 𝑶𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒐, 𝑱𝒓. 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒔. 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒆 𝑬𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑵𝑬𝑴𝑺𝑼 𝑩𝒊𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒈 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔.

This device combines a drawing compass with multiple measurement functions, allowing precise length, straightness, squareness, hole depth, inner and outer dimension, and thickness measurements.

The patent was filed on December 31, 2021, as part of the ITSO Patent Training Activity, which covered intellectual property education, patent search, invention spotting, claim drafting, and participation in the Intellectual Property Master Class (IPMC).
