The North Eastern Mindanao State University - San Miguel campus recently held a turnover ceremony, marking the transition of leadership from Dr. Florife O. Urbiztondo, the outgoing Campus Director, to Dr. Marvie V. Gonzaga, the incoming OIC Campus Director. Dr. Urbiztondo, a recognized pillar of Surigao del Sur State University (now NEMSU), leaves behind a legacy defined by her exceptional focus on forging and strengthening external collaborations. Her proactive approach resulted in significant partnerships with key national government agencies, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), CENRO Lianga, LGU-San Miguel, and the San Miguel Tribal Community. A testament to her effective leadership is the completion of three major infrastructure projects: a state-of-the-art multipurpose building, a vital road concreting initiative, and a much-needed potable water system. These projects, undertaken in collaboration with the Congressional District Office, significantly enhanced the campus's facilities and overall learning environment.

Dr. Marvie V. Gonzaga, with extensive experience spanning her long tenure at the campus since its days as Surigao del Sur Polytechnic College, now serves as Officer-in-Charge, bringing a wealth of institutional knowledge and a fresh perspective to the role of Campus Director.
